RTOERO District 24 is having a ribbon cutting for our new memorial bench in Bluffers Park!
On Friday, December 6, 2024, at 3:30 p.m., our Deputy Mayor, Jennifer McKelvy, will be joining us in Bluffers Park for an official ribbon cutting for our new bench. A photographer from the Bluffs Monitor will also be in attendance.
The Nordic Pole Walking Club got the idea for a bench dedicated in memory of our deceased members as we walked in the many ravine parks in Scarborough and East York and saw plaques on benches. We applied to the National Office for a Community Grant and this is the result.
Everyone is invited to attend the ceremony. If you are a member of the Nordic Pole Walking Club, please bring your walking poles for the photos. An article, with photos, will be published in our Winter Edition of Beyond the Blackboard.
When you drive down the bottom of Brimley to enter Bluffers Park, take the furthest exit on the right at the bottom of the hill and park in the lot furthest west. The bench is a short walk west past the washroom building. We will gather in the parking lot.
Look forward to seeing you on December 6!
